We boost funds to resurface Church Stretton school playground

St Lawrence CE Primary School in Church Stretton is raising funds to resurface its school playground, and here at Samuel Wood Estate Agents, we have boosted funds by donating around a tenth of the total cost.

Award-winning agents, Samuel Wood, is the only Shropshire estate agency to have offices in Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Craven Arms and Church Stretton.

We pride ourselves on supporting the county communities we serves and organised a range of fundraising activities and competitions throughout lockdown.

A letter from fundraiser Verity Overs-Morrell on behalf of the Friends of St Lawrence Primary School, said: “Thank you so much to Samuel Wood for their generous donation. We are so nearly there to hitting the target!

“The support from local businesses has been fantastic and we couldn’t do it without them, especially with not being able to put on events like the Spring Fair, Sports Day etc, due to the government restrictions.”

The school has promised to send an update of the playground when it has been completed so Samuel Wood and others can see how their donations have been spent.

Samuel Wood has also recently sponsored the Church Stretton Library by advertising in the library and its literature and The Shropshire Cycle Hub with a sum of money to help it repair bikes to be used by those on low incomes.

The Cycle Hub is a community charity focused on improving access to healthy sustainable transport across Shropshire.

Its volunteers retrieve, repair and redistribute donated bikes to those that need them.

Russell Griffin, Co-Director of Samuel Wood, said: “As well as helping people buy and sell homes across our beautiful, destination county, here at Samuel Wood we feel it’s important to give back to the communities we serve and are trying to preserve."

Andrew Cadwallader, Co Director, added: “There are so many wonderful things happening across our county and we are always happy to support organisations and activities which are used by so many of our residents, especially those which are providing and improving essential community facilities and services.”
