What is there to love about Shrewsbury?

With offices across beautiful Shropshire in Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Church Stretton and Oswestry – our Samuel Wood staff really are well placed to know lots about the county.

So, we thought we would do a little series on ‘Why we love Shropshire!’

First up is one of our sales negotiators, Lauren Watkins, who is based in our Shrewsbury office.

She lives and works in Shrewsbury and she loves it! Here are her top three reasons why:

You've got everything on your doorstep

This is Lauren’s top reason – she loves Shrewsbury because of the wealth of pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, DIY stores etc all on your doorstep.

And with them all opening up again this week after Lockdown#2 – she can start to get amongst it all once again.

“Living on Telford Estate means I am very central and it’s easy to access all areas of Shrewsbury. My favourite places to eat are The Olive Tree and Hickory’s,” said Lauren, mum of one.

There are so many beautiful places to explore without having to travel too far.

You don’t have to go far at all to be in the countryside and enjoying some beautiful open spaces or amazing recreational sites.

Lauren favours Colemere Lake, near Ellesmere, Ratlinghope (especially The Bridges pub) and Lake Vyrnwy as some key places to relax at and visit.

The independent shops

Shrewsbury is well-known for its amazing independent shops and its nationally award-winning Market Hall.

Wyle Cop for example has the longest, uninterrupted row of independent shops in the town and is a fabulous shopping destination in its own right. Lauren particularly likes shops including White Lotus Living, Lovely Little World and Vinterior.

So, those are just some of the reasons Lauren likes living in Shrewsbury. We’d love to hear some of yours!

If you’d like to know more about moving to Shrewsbury, buying or selling here, just drop our friendly staff, like Lauren a call, on 01743 272710.
