Are you dreaming of a white Christmas in Shropshire?
It’s safe to say it’s been a tough old year and maybe we are all dreaming of a white Christmas in Shropshire.

So, we have certainly seen our share of beautiful snow-covered scenes across our beautiful county over the years.
From rolling fields in Whitchurch and Market Drayton in the north, to the Stretton Hills and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the south.
The last white Christmas we had in the county was back in in 2004, when our region enjoyed a dumping of snow.
The highest depth of snow for the West Midlands between December 21 and January 4 was recorded as around four inches that year.
Happily, the newspapers are already reporting that this Christmas could be a white one with snow, sleet and freezing rain expected to hit the country on December 25.
Families are already preparing for a different festive period with Covid restrictions and it is predicted temperatures are set to plunge.
The Met Office defines a white Christmas as “one snowflake to be observed falling in the 24 hours of 25 December somewhere in the UK”, although the weather forecasters compiled their data on individual countries from their stations across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
That means those living in England have experienced a white Christmas at least 25 times since 1967 – although people may not have seen a single snowflake in some of those years!
We can all keep our fingers crossed for some of the magic white stuff this Christmas.
And into 2021, we are hoping for all our customers, staff, friends and partners that it is a better year all round.
